The cost of running AI is exploding.
Inference – running the models, not training them – is the bill now. Capping it isn't optional.
Worldwide AI spend in 2026 – up 47% in a single year
Spent running inference in 2026 – more than double 2025's £6.96B
Of agentic-AI projects scrapped by 2027 – over runaway cost

Nothing kills an AI project faster than
the first month's invoice.
Chatbots were cheap. Autonomous agents are a black hole of hidden cost and wasted hardware. One user request sparks dozens of sequential model calls – and each reasoning loop leaves expensive, high-tier GPUs idle, waiting for the next step or choking in queues. You pay peak enterprise rates for infrastructure you barely use. If you can't predict compute efficiency per task, you can't scale.
Of an AI model's lifetime compute cost is inference, not training
You pay for every token, every step, forever.
Typical GPU utilisation in production inference
You rent the whole card. You use a third of it.
Cost and speed
GPUs were built to train models in batches, not to serve agents in real time. Memory-wall stalls, low utilisation and per-token billing mean you pay premium rates for hardware that spends most of its time waiting.
- Latency that stacks up across every agent step
- Per-token pricing that scales against you
- Cards rented whole, used in fractions
Where your data lives
The lowest-cost GPU capacity sits in US hyperscale regions – and so does your data the moment you call it. For regulated, public-sector and UK enterprise workloads, that's a governance problem you can't optimise away.
- Data crossing borders to reach the model
- Exposure to foreign jurisdiction and law
- Compliance teams blocking production rollout
Widely-cited industry estimates, shown for illustration. Your actual numbers are the ones that matter – that's what the cost review is for.
Faster agents. A fraction of the cost. Data that never leaves the country. Argyll delivers all three.
We didn't optimise the GPU.
We replaced it.
Argyll Data runs on a Reconfigurable Dataflow Unit (RDU) – the SambaNova SN40L architecture, deployed sovereign in the UK. Instead of streaming weights back and forth across a memory wall, the whole model stays resident and the chip reconfigures itself around your workflow. For agentic inference, that means higher speeds and lower costs.
In plain English
Purpose-built UK hardware runs your AI agents more economically and faster than renting cloud GPUs, and switching is a one-line change rather than a rebuild.

See what AI really costs you
We map your GPU inference spend, latency and US data-residency exposure – your real numbers, not a generic estimate.
Diagnosis
Find the agentic bottleneck
Agentic workflows fan one task into dozens of model calls. We pinpoint exactly where cost and latency are multiplying.

Frequently asked questions.
How does MiniMax M2.7 compare with GPT-5.5 or Claude for agentic work?
MiniMax M2.7 is a 228B-parameter reasoning model built for tool-calling and multi-step agent workflows, and it holds its own against frontier models on agentic and coding benchmarks. For most agent steps – routing, extraction, tool calls, code generation – the quality difference is invisible; the invoice difference isn't. Don't take our word for it: the live demo above is the real model on our hardware.
How much work is it to switch?
Almost none. Our endpoint is OpenAI-compatible, so you keep your existing stack, SDKs and prompts – you change the base URL and the API key. Most teams are running their first workload in minutes, not months.
Where does my data actually live?
Inference runs on RDU hardware in Equinix Manchester, operated by Argyll Data – a registered UK company (SC759203). Your prompts and outputs are processed inside the UK, under UK jurisdiction. No US cloud region, no cross-border transfer, no foreign law exposure.
What is an RDU, and who are SambaNova?
The Reconfigurable Dataflow Unit (RDU) is the SambaNova SN40L – an AI chip designed for inference rather than adapted from graphics hardware. It holds the whole model resident in a three-tier memory system instead of streaming weights across a GPU memory wall, which is where the speed and cost advantage comes from. Argyll Data is SambaNova's exclusive UK partner.
How does pricing and billing work?
Pay-as-you-go token pricing: £0.60 per million input tokens and £3.00 per million output tokens on MiniMax M2.7 – invoiced in GBP, VAT included, no minimum commitment. Reserved capacity, dedicated infrastructure and on-prem deployments are priced to fit – talk to us.
Can I try it before committing?
Yes. ArgyllCloud is self-serve: create an account, get free tokens to start, no credit card required. You can also run the live demo on this page, or book a cost review and we'll benchmark your actual workload on RDU.
Do you offer dedicated or on-prem deployments?
Yes. We provision dedicated single-tenant RDU environments, reserved capacity for sustained high-volume inference, and on-prem RDU hardware inside your own perimeter for defence, public-sector and highly regulated workloads.
